Solibri 25.3.0 Release Notes

Update to version 25.3.0 for the latest improvements featuring formulas for ITOs, enhanced measurement tools and new issue integrations for Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360.

Solibri Formulas

One of the most requested features is now available for ITO (Information Takeoff) and Classifications—formulas! Office users can now leverage powerful functions to enhance their workflows.

Column Labeling in ITO and Classifications
ITO and Classification columns are now labeled with letters (A, B, C, etc.) to help identify columns when writing formulas.

Formula support in ITO
A new column type, “Formula,” has been added. It can be accessed by double-clicking an existing column and choosing the “Formula” column type. You can also add a new column to the existing ITO table and set it to use Formula.

Formula Support in Classifications
Formulas are also available in Classifications, allowing dynamic values instead of static text. In Classification Name, users can now choose between:

  • Text Value (manual entry, default option)
  • Formula (NEW)

How do Solibri Formulas work?

  • The formula field always starts with an equals sign (=), which cannot be removed or edited.
  • As you type, auto-suggestions appear, filtering available column names and supported functions.
  • When selecting a function, it is inserted with parentheses, and the cursor is placed inside the first parenthesis for easy input.

Important note!

  • A new column is always added to the left of an existing column.
  • This might shift the lettering of columns (e.g., what was previously “B” may become “C”).
  • However, formulas automatically adjust and retain references to the correct columns.
  • This also applies when reordering columns—formulas remain intact despite changes in column positions.)
  • Solibri internal unit of length is millimeters, regardless of user defined settings. Any calculations made use length as millimeters, and this is important to consider while creating formulas and setting formats.
  • Column Formats (Volume and Area) will apply an automatic conversion to formula column results.

Enhanced measurement tools

A much-requested feature has now been implemented: an improved set of measurement tools in Solibri Office.

The existing Distance tool has been replaced by a new, more versatile tool called Measurements. The measurement tool is now implemented as a new View in Solibri Office, making it more accessible and providing better visibility and control over measurements.

Available Measurement Tools

  • Length – Measures the distance between two points.
  • Path length – Measures the total length of multiple connected points.
  • Angle – Measures the angle between two lines or three points. It can also measure slopes of faces and edges with a single click.
Press Enter to accept the measurement before selecting a third point.
  • Face Area – Measures the area of an individual component face.
  • Polygon Area – Measures the area enclosed by multiple selected points.
Press Enter to complete a loop when selecting multiple points.
  • Volume – Calculates the volume of a selected component.
  • Coordinate – Displays the 3D coordinates of a selected point.

Autodesk issues integration

Available to Site and Office users, we’ve made improvements to our already existing issues integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360. We’ve now implemented viewpoint support for issues derived from ACC/BIM 360 environments. Viewpoint support for Solibri issues in the AutoDesk environment are on the way, and will be delivered once the AutoDesk APIs are finalized.

The integration can be accessed by connecting to the ACC/BIM 360 integration in the Integrations view under the File tab, and by going to BCF Live Connector tab to select an ACC/BIM 360 server and a project.

The ACC/BIM 360 issue integration has been implemented in the BCF Live Connector view, but as Autodesk issues aren’t based on the BCF standard, there are some things that need to be taken into account when using the integration.

First of all, some default Autodesk issue fields map directly to BCF topics, but some require special handling to get them supported. In an ACC/BIM 360 project there are three fields that require special attention: priority, label, and stage. These are supported as custom fields in this integration and need to be configured in a certain way.

As can be seen in the picture above,

  • The custom field Priority needs to be of type Dropdown and can have as values whichever priority levels are needed in the project
  • The custom field Labels needs to be of type Text that contains under the Description the needed labels as a comma-separated list
  • The custom field Stage needs to be of type Dropdown and can have as values whichever stage options are needed in the project

These custom fields need to be added in the project to each issue type that requires these fields. After these custom fields have been configured in the project and added to the needed issue types, they will be supported in the issue details view as well as in the filters on Solibri side.

Secondly, in ACC projects you’ll need to create the following folders (Project Files → Solibri Issue Files) via the Files tab to be able to include images (viewpoints) to the issues.

Note that when you’re connecting to the integration, a popup may appear where you need to create mappings for some fields between their local values and the values supported on the server. When using the integration, you can add and update issues normally, manually or for example by importing checking results.

Note also that there are some limitations concerning this integration:

  • Issue comments: In ACC/BIM 360 projects issue comments can be added, but not modified
  • Filtering: At the moment filtering with the Undefined will fetch all the issues, not only the ones for which the field is not present
  • Issue Viewpoints and 3D Visualization: For all issues, snapshots (images) are supported in ACC/BIM 360. When it comes to 3D visualisation (camera position, component visibilities, component selections and sections), issues created within ACC/BIM 360 will have the push pin (3D visualization) location supported in both ACC/BIM 360 and Solibri. Issues created in Solibri however will not have a push pin (3D visualization) location within the ACC/BIM 360 viewer environment. We are expecting Autodesk to improve their API, so that we can offer the same user experience as we do for other BCF live servers. A workaround would be to add the push pin whenever working in within the ACC/BIM 360 Viewer on that specific issue.
  • Removing viewpoints: Removing viewpoints from a synchronized issue is not supported

New Beta Extension - Carbon Checker Germany (Ökobaudat)

With this extension, Carbon Checker Ökobaudat Database, you can seamlessly integrate generic emission factors (A1-A3) into BIM objects within Solibri Office, providing you with powerful insights into the environmental impact of your designs.
This extensions come equipped with preloaded generic emission factors sourced from the Database Ökobaudat, to ensure accuracy and relevance in your carbon calculations. Carbon Checker empowers you to perform detailed carbon calculations on individual BIM objects while maintaining the flexibility to aggregate data by material, component type, or technical discipline. This level of granularity provides unprecedented control over your carbon footprint management within the design process.

The Carbon Checker Extensions have been developed to be bilingual, allowing you to work with a material terminology in either the German language or in English. This linguistic flexibility empowers you to effortlessly navigate through the material information, transcending language barriers.

Your Solibri Admin can assign the extension to you so that you are able to install it on your own after opening Solibri in the Solution Center section. Then you are ready to go.
