Speeding up carbon calculations using BIM
Recently, Solibri has launched Carbon Checker, an extension for Solibri Office, that helps AEC industry to quickly analyze the model’s carbon footprint. BIM managers, coordinators, designers and even LCA analysts can define and calculate a project’s carbon footprint 3 to 10 times faster than with contemporary mainstream work methods.
In this webinar, David Jirout, CEO & Founder of Illuminum will demonstrate the new efficient process to perform carbon calculations of the BIM models using Solibri Carbon Checker.
Currently, Carbon Checker utilizes two databases with generic emission factors from Finland and Sweden: Emissions Database for Construction by SYKE and Climate database by Boverket. The extension is thus available to customers in Finland and Sweden. However, Solibri is committed to expanding its reach as more countries develop similar official databases. David Jirout is the CEO & Founder of Illuminum, and IT startup, here he currently develops multiple sustainability focused SaaS services like, for example, the Carbon Checker for Solibri Office. He has worked with sustainability focused BIM coordination and systems development since 2017.
Previously, David worked at Ramböll as a BIM specialist, and Sweco as the Sustainability Chief for division Digital Services where he was awarded the prize IT Innovator of the Year.
