Solibri Inc. awarded IFC Coordination View 2.0 Import Certification

Helsinki, Finland - November 7th, 2013 Solibri announced today that it has received the IFC Coordination View 2.0 Import Certification. Solibri, being one of the first recipients, continues to support BIM (Building Information Modeling) and the improvement of IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) standardization. “We and buildingSMART continue to strive for open and recognised standards in BIM. Developments implemented in IFC export and import provide benefits to the whole industry,” said Pasi Paasiala, CTO Solibri. Solibri Model Checker (SMC) uses IFC as its main input format to do Quality Assurance and Quality Control, Visualization and Information Takeoff from BIM files. SMC can simultaneously open and operate on several IFC files. SMC can import IFC files from all disciplines included in this certification. The purpose of SMC is to report potential problems, not to change the design. It sends change requests back to the BIM authoring tool via BIM Collaboration Format (BCF) - another standard endorsed by buildingSMART. More open and stringent standards promote consistent quality in BIM programs and support one of Solibri’s key beliefs – that reliable information benefits the whole work flow. Architects, structural engineers and facility managers all save time, money and resources. Solibri and buildingSMART also continue forward in the development of BCF.
