Solibri’s Latest Version Goes Beyond Analysis of Architectural BIM
HELSINKI, Finland, April 3, 2006 — Solibri, Inc. today announced a new version 4 of Solibri Model Checker (SMC), the market leading software for automated design review and analysis of Building Information Models (BIM).
Solve Cross-Disciplinary Problems in Advance
The version 4 takes the BIM analysis to a new level. Now architectural design can be cross-checked with structural design, building services with structural elements, or all at once. SMC version 4 finds the places where building services components collide with load bearing structural elements or suspended ceilings. SMC version 4 also finds the locations where structural and architectural models differ, for example, architect’s columns and those of structural engineer’s don’t share the same location, or architect’s doors and windows don’t fit the openings in the structural model.
Live Slideshow Presentations to Communicate the Results
Once you have analyzed the design with Solibri Model Checker, you can make a slideshow presentation of the results and walk through them with your design team. A presentation is a collection of annotated design viewpoints that take you to points of interest in the model. The viewpoints are not just plain snapshots. At all times you have the full power of a live model available allowing you to further investigate each situation. Never before has solving and communicating of design problems been this easy!
Convincing Results in Real Projects
Already during its development period, the functionality of SMC version 4 has been tested in several real projects. ”We wanted to see how architectural, structural and HVAC models can be brought together and analyzed with the design team. We used Solibri Model Checker and IFC files to integrate everything into a single model. After the project it was easy to state that the results exceeded our expectations.”, Jukka Hörkkö, Skanska Finland.
“Our customers have been extremely excited about the ability to analyze the whole building and all design disciplines. This has been a big development effort but it has definitely been worth it” said Heikki Kulusjärvi, CEO of Solibri.
Enhanced Ease of Use with Broader Functionality
Solibri Model Checker Version 4 provides the following major features:
• Importing of several IFC files into one SMC model
• Support for building services and structural disciplines
• Slideshow with presentation mode
• Importing of IFC 2x3 files
• Space validation rules
• Intelligent collision analysis based on components’ design discipline and type, and severity of the collision
• Analysis of architectural and structural design that e.g. load bearing elements have the same location in both designs
• Multidiscipline rules
