Solibri Model Checker Version 9 – Creating a New Eco-System for Quality Assurance

Helsinki, Finland – October 3rd, 2013

Today sees the introduction of the latest version of the Solibri Model Checker (SMC). Version 9 offers easy to use-to-use methods when checking and sharing information. It has been designed to allow the user to customize and localize SMC in a way that suits their need.

“I am happy our emphasis continues to be on improving ease of use – both in terms of how you optimize workflow on the SMC and how you administer your company users,” says Heikki Kulusjärvi, CEO of Solibri. Version 9 will be available for download at the end of October. Key updates include:

The Solibri Solution Center (SSC) – Delivering Easy Access and Management for the User – The SSC is a cloud based meeting point to access the latest solutions for Quality Assurance and Quality Control. This customized content will come from Solibri, its partners, 3rd party developers and multiple BIM organizations. “We are introducing a new environment that will expand the BIM eco-system. Solibri understands that each country, region and even project has specific requirements,” says Heikki Kulusjärvi. Content will be frequently updated and as BIM continues to evolve, there will be a wide range of content to choose from.

Easy License Administration on the Cloud – Previously, license downloads needed specific administration servers and user profiles that took time to create. With Version 9, licenses can be created online and administrators have direct access to user licences and the selected add-ons. This allows user pools to be more easily managed and this can be done remotely.

Enhanced Rulesets to suit your need - Version 9 allows improved control with self-configurable rulesets. As a building is being developed, people need to be able to do simple checking for issues such as design consistency and spatial layout. Later in the build, users need to check more complicated issues (e.g. accessibility). Version 9 allows you to choose what you check and at what time stage. As the build progresses, you can choose to access more complex rulesets as needed. Rulesets can also be chosen to match the type of building (e.g. hospital or school) on your project.

Sharing Quality Information, not just Data – It’s now easier to share more information with others working in the project team. Share changes back to the architect, or forward to the construction team. SMC now has the possibility to add rule names, category names, issues and descriptions. You can also add hyperlinks to BIM standards or Building Codes. This allows more people to get more information when they need it most.

“We feel we are re-inventing how people utilize BIM to improve their work. That's is why at Solibri, we believe in our customer focus – ‘Imagine. Reliable Information on Demand.’ " said Heikki Kulusjärvi. To find out more, keep updated via Solibri.com and its social media feeds.
