New reserved license model for Solibri named subscriptions

Solibri is introducing a reserved license model for named subscriptions.

With this update, named licenses need to be assigned to specific users before they can be used. This gives organization admins clearer control over license access, usage, and user assignments in one central place: Solibri OrgAdmin.

The reserved model already applies to Solibri Starter and will now be used for named subscriptions across Solibri products, including Starter, Essential, Advanced, and Premium.

What is changing?

Named subscriptions will now follow a reserved license model. This means that an organization admin reserves a license for a specific user in Solibri OrgAdmin before that user can access the product.

Organizations with named licenses gain more flexibility, as admins can make selected user changes directly in Solibri OrgAdmin, subject to the available reservation quota.

Existing named licenses will be migrated to the new reserved license model this week, 14.09–18.09.2026. The migration will happen in the background and will not interrupt software access or use.

Existing users will automatically become the reserved users for the named licenses they currently use, so no action is required from organization admins for these existing assignments.

This brings named license management into the same admin environment already used for Solibri Starter reservations, making it easier for organizations to manage users, licenses, and access rights consistently.

Why we are making this change

The reserved license model centralizes named license management in Solibri OrgAdmin.

For organization admins, this means:

  • Clearer visibility into available named licenses
  • More control over which users have access
  • Easier license reservation and reassignment
  • Better visibility into license usage
  • Consistent license management across Solibri named subscriptions

The update is designed to make license administration more structured and transparent, especially for organizations managing multiple users, products, or teams.

What this means for Solibri admins

Organization admins can manage reserved licenses directly in Solibri OrgAdmin.

Admins can:

  • View available named licenses
  • Reserve licenses for specific users
  • Release and reassign licenses when access needs to change
  • Monitor license usage and reservation status
  • Manage user group access for Solibri products

Before a user can access a reserved license, they must be part of the organization and assigned to a user group that includes access to the relevant Solibri product.

Which products are affected?

The reserved license model applies to named subscriptions across Solibri products, including:

  • Solibri Starter
  • Solibri Essential
  • Solibri Advanced
  • Solibri Premium

All named subscriptions will be managed using the reserved license model in Solibri OrgAdmin.
