What’s new in Solibri Office – September 2024

Solibri Office 24.9.0 is now ready to be installed, with improvements to Clash Detection Matrix, IfcMaterial support, a new dark mode, Distance Rule updates and further, smaller bug fixes.

Product release Solibri 24 5 0

In this new iteration of Solibri Office, we have primarily focused our attention to continually build on our last major update; 24.5.0. This has included enhancing and refining the Clash Detection Matrix experience, improving IfcMaterial support to capture comprehensive raw material data and continued UI updates.

This update also contains a useful fix for users who may have experienced obstacles in updating models. We therefore recommend to update to this latest version of Solibri Office (24.9.0) to ensure optimal performance.

#1. Improved IfcMaterial support

IfcMaterial support has now been improved in Solibri, allowing you to report all IfcMaterial attributes and PropertySets with ITO. All material-related details are now easily accessible and can be viewed under the Material tab in the Info View.

This update provides better insight and management of IFC materials, and enables you to capture comprehensive raw material data.

#2. Distance Rule (#222) updates

We are excited to announce further improvements to our ‘Distance Rule’ (Rule #222), focusing on improving clarity and a more intuitive experience. This has been done by new grouping of parameters, updating key terminology, adding fresh illustrations for minimum, maximum and minimum number input fields.

With this current updates to the Distance Rule, we are continuing to rework the remaining illustrations and will introduce new features such as range distance measuring, offset for footprints, and a new container filter. This will allow for more detailed checks. Read more about the Distance Rule here.

#3. UI revamp & Dark Mode

You are now able to choose between Light and Dark Mode in your Solibri Office. This new update to our user interface enables a higher-contrast and different color theme, making it easier for the longer session user. Whether you are looking to reduce eye strain, improve contrast, or prefer a more refined look, Dark Mode provides a practical and comfortable experience. This new theme can be turned on through the ‘Appearance’ option in the ‘General’ settings within Solibri.

Furthermore, we have continued to make improvements to our user interface, embracing our mission for a greater contemporary feel within your Solibri Office. In this iteration we have modernised software icons, added a highlighted color to close buttons in the Checking, Classification and ITO toolbars to avoid accidental closures, and improved the support for higher DPI monitors with scaling support. Check out this help article for all information regarding this update.

#4. Expanded attribute support for IDS Rule #244

We’ve expanded the range of attributes supported by IDS Rule #244, enhancing its model checking capabilities. This update now covers attributes like LongName, ElevationWithFlooring, ObjectType, Tag, CompositionType, ElevationRefHeight, and ElevationOfTerrain.

Additionally, ElevationRefHeight, ElevationOfTerrain, and ElevationWithFlooring are now available in the UI “Information view” for improved usability.

Information Delivery Specification (IDS) is a visionary approach by buildingSMART, for the exchange of information requirements within BIM workflows. Check out how to use IDS in Solibri.

#5. Important bug fixes

We have detected an obstacle in updating models, that may have been leading to problematic .smc files. However, with the 24.9.0 release, we have been able to resolve these issues. Nonetheless, we highly recommend you to update to the latest version of Solibri Office.
