What’s new in Solibri Office v25.6.0?

SAP integration

With 25.6.0 we announce the release of our files integration to SAP. Similar to our current existing integrations, SAP can be accessed by authenticating from Solibri and selecting the path required.

Rule #246: Accessible Space Rule

We are pleased to introduce the new Rule #246: "Accessible Space Rule", a significant advancement in checking accessibility in your models. This new rule ensures that required clearances - for e.g. turning zones, maneuvering areas, space for equipment or inventory … - are not only available, but also accessible from doors, taking into account surrounding obstacles and spatial restrictions.
The rule includes the following functionalities:

  • Apply precise filters for both spaces and obstacles
  • Have the option to automatically merge spaces with each other
  • Define your free space as a cuboid or cylinder, with full control over dimensions and elevation
  • Enable the “Free path to passage ways” option to confirm unobstructed access from passageways like doors to the defined space (Cylinder, Cuboid)
  • Set passage way filter and a path width parameter, including automatic elevation alignment
  • Review results with clear visual feedback, showing exactly where and why the check failed

This rule brings enhanced clarity and flexibility to your accessibility verification—helping you ensure safety, compliance, and usability for all building users.

You can find guidelines on how to use Rule #246 in this help article.

Note: Rule #246 is not backward compatible and will not run in older Solibri versions.

Improvements

Performance

We have greatly improved model closing performance; now, closing models takes just seconds.

Autorun

Autorun now supports external file locations! You can now run all Autorun tasks from the following integrations:

  • Autodesk Construction Cloud & BIM 360
  • Trimble Connect
  • SharePoint & OneDrive

JavaScript API is now publicly available

Previously JavaScript API was limited as an Extension. JavaScript API is now openly available to all Solibri Office users, and has some added security improvements. Documentation coming soon!

Window size adjustments

ITO Definition, Classification Settings and Update Models dialogs now remember the window size adjustments made. No need to keep making the same adjustments over and over again.

Bug fixes

Rules

  • Rule 203: Resolved an issue where failing components were incorrectly marked as passed in the Checked component dialogue and the Checking result Excel file.
  • Rule 244: Resolved parsing issues so that identifier, description, copyright, and instruction metadata are now correctly displayed in the HTML view of the IDS Rule. Additionally, the instruction and description fields are now visible within the requirements section.

BCF Live Connector

  • Resolved an issue that was causing comments to save mid-sentence.

Other bug fixes and small improvements:

  • Special characters (umlauts) in PDF reports are now displaying correctly. Solibri no longer defaults to UTF8 when the report settings is opened.
  • Resolved an “EXE4J_JAVA_HOME” issue, which was causing Solibri to not start.

Solibri IDS Editor v1.3.0 updates

We are excited to announce the release of IDS Editor v1.3.0! This update brings a range of enhancements and a lot of bug fixes to improve the functionality, usability, and reliability of the editor. Solibri IDS Editor is a web-based tool for creating and modifying Information Delivery Specification files.

Key Features & Enhancements

Adding of all relevant IfcClasses
You can now select from a comprehensive list of IFC classes and types in the entity facet, which belong to the class (IfcObjectDefintion), not just limited to entities from IfcElement. This expansion makes the editor more versatile and better suited for advanced modelling scenarios, ensuring broader compatibility with your BIM data, especially when you are using IfcTypes.

BaseQuantities Support
We now support base quantities for entities. With this extension, you can select base sets directly matching the entities in the facet property and thus make your quality assurance and data request processes more comprehensive.

Performance Improvement
The IDS Editor now handles large IDS files effortlessly, eliminating freezing or crashes during import. Once loaded, the editor remains highly responsive, with quick reaction times for common actions by implementing pagination. This ensures a smoother user experience, even with complex projects.

Enriching of the Metadata
Metadata handling has been refined for clarity and consistency: ‘Creation date’ has been changed to 'Date’ and uses the schema provided by the IDS schema, “file version” has been renamed to “Version,” and “Author email” is now simply “Author.” Additionally, an “Identifier” field has been introduced, for having an automated process, and “Instructions” have been updated for improved usability. These changes make metadata management more intuitive and aligned with the IDS Schema.

General Fixes

UX Improvements:

  • Improving: Performance issues with bSDD property facets have been addressed, reducing lag when handling large selections, especially for the facet “properties from bSDD.”
  • Improving: A fallback mapping has been implemented for cases where the datatype cannot be mapped based on the chosen property in bSDD.
  • Improving: Added line heights and reusable functions to ensure proper formatting when long lines are split in the PDF Extract Report.
  • Improving: Inconsistent error messages for property sets in the property facets have been addressed, and validation messages now appear as expected.
  • Improving: When a property set is selected, the property field now defaults to selection mode rather than pre-filling the first value, improving clarity.
  • Improving: Comma-separated values in any list of values parameter now create a new chip for each value, enhancing usability.
  • Improving: Added error messages for minimum and maximum length fields in the range option, improving user guidance.
  • Improving: The regex of property sets and properties and the list of values of it are now reflected in the PDF output, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Improving: A change of the ifc version only changes the content of the facets Entity and Property if it is truly incompatible.

Fixed Bugs:

  • Fixing: The editor now correctly sets cardinality to “required” if the string is empty in imported IDS files.
  • Fixing: Regex pattern exports for IFC Entity facets now align with uppercase formatting used in the UI, fixing checking issues e.g., ^ifc(?!Wall$|Slab$|Site$)[A-Za-z0-9_]+$ -> ^IFC(?!WALL$|SLAB$|SITE$)[A-Za-z0-9_]+$
  • Fixing: Changing the selected entity no longer clears information in other facets, and previously selected properties are automatically converted to “custom properties.”
  • Fixing: The wrong datatype was previously exported when IfcBoolean was selected; this has now been corrected.
  • Fixing: Importing IDS files no longer fails if the requirement section is missing in the XML, allowing processing to continue as long as applicability is present, since only the applicability section is mandatory.
  • Fixing: All value types are now available and selectable for properties and attributes, ensuring consistency and robust import functionality.
  • Fixing: System values (Code) are now correct when selecting IfcClass via bSDD.
  • Fixing: An error validation message now appears for the value field, since it is empty when adding a property facet via bSDD. This prevents confusion, since the download/upload buttons are then disabled.
  • Fixing: The user interface for data type, relevance, attribute and relation is now vertically aligned with the other parameters to ensure a more consistent appearance when the window is minimize.d
  • Fixing: Now adds a line break to the PDF when a long specification description would otherwise run off the page.
  • Fixing: The metadata “Description” is now correctly positioned in the XML export, following the title information.
